This is a team only very few people know, APOEL Nicosia, the biggest team in Cyprus, called lot attention in the UEFA Champions League 2011-2012 season, because of their crazy fans. The team is the representation of the Greek population in Cyprus, APOEL means Athletic Football Club of Greeks of Nicosia. In the words of Nikos Karidis, one of the firm's founders, the club is: "a superior ideology, full of pride and glory, that became a religious conviction (...) that mesmerizes everyone, since the richest to the poorer Greek of Nicosia". In the 2011-12 season, "the oranges", as they're known because of the orange clothes, made quite show in every match, doesn't matter if at home, or across Europe. More than six thousand fans went to Stanford Bridge in 2009, more than 5 thousand went to Lyon, and more than 4 thousand went to Madrid
Some curiosities:
